Our Founder

Kyaw Min Maung founded the Rising Sun Foundation in 2024, inspired by his time teaching children at refugee schools in Mae Sot and earlier experiences volunteering in Myanmar. Witnessing the challenges faced by young learners without access to technology or quality education sparked a lifelong commitment to help bridge that gap.

Combining his passion for education with a professional background in IT security and a Master's Degree in Internetworking, Kyaw set out to create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and build brighter futures through digital literacy and access to technology.

Through the Rising Sun Foundation, he continues to dedicate his efforts to empowering children in Australia, Thailand, Myanmar, and beyond—believing that education is the key to unlocking potential and transforming lives.
