At the Rising Sun Foundation, accountability is the promise we make to one another and to the world we are working to transform. We are a vibrant, multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-generational, and gender-inclusive community, united by a shared belief: that every person holds the power to create change. Our diversity strengthens our vision, and our solidarity grounds our commitment to a more just and compassionate future.

We honor accountability by aligning our actions with our values. We show up with transparency, integrity, and courage, knowing that our choices ripple outward to the communities we serve. We reflect deeply, learn continually, and adapt boldly so that our work actively challenges and dismantles systems of oppression rather than reinforcing them.

We are devoted to education and empowerment—in Australia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the U.S.—because we believe knowledge ignites possibility. Through service, community-led learning, and global collaboration, our students, alumni, staff, partners, and supporters join forces to break cycles of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations. Together, we cultivate the leadership needed to move from survival toward liberation.

Accountability also calls us to humility and compassion. We listen with open hearts. We acknowledge our missteps with honesty. We repair harm with intention. And we grow—individually and collectively—through practices of power-sharing, anti-racism, and radical love.
